Impromptu Photoshoot at Table Mountain

Last Tuesday, I had an engagement shoot scheduled with a nice couple I knew from childhood. Being that it is spring and the wildflowers are in full bloom, we had our sights set on Table Mountain near Oroville, CA. But, unfortunately the weather in April is unpredictable here in Northern California.

Therefore, that morning I woke up to a text from the bride-to-be hoping to reschedule the shoot on account of rain. I advised her the rain was going to clear up before sunset but, she insisted the ground would be muddy. Fair enough, as I am sure she didn't want to get her shoes for the shoot covered in mud.

Now, I commute to Chico from Sacramento for school twice a week, so I don't always have easy access to Table Mountain. Needless to say, I still couldn't let this opportunity pass me by. Therefore, I called up my friend Stephen Jaworski who just got a new Nikon DSLR and asked him to join me for an impromptu shoot. The following are some of the shots we got that evening.

Part of me wishes the couple had decided to go ahead with the shoot because couds in the sky have a way of making shots look more "epic" and "important". We have rescheduled the shoot for this week and I am hoping for equally as stunning results.
