When It Rains On Your Wedding Day! :(

I can imagine this is every brides worst nightmare, because it's every photographers worst nightmare as well. So naturally it was bound to happen. At the end of last year I shot a wedding in Downtown Sacramento in the pouring rain. We planed on taking photos in front of the capital, by tower bridge and wherever else we may have spontaneously wondered until we woke up that morning to a torrential rainfall.

So what did we do? We improvised. I am not going to pretend the photos wouldn't of turned out better if we did have to hide from the storm, but the experience could of been a lot worse if we didn't all pull together and make the best of it. I'll let you look at a few of the results now.

Luckily I had a back up plan. This building is featured in my chase banking app so it was fresh in my mind. I knew it would be dry enough for the couple to stand under and fortunately my lovely girl friend Paige was kind enough to hold an umbrella to keep my camera dry.

When the lighting is horrible, I sometimes have to resort to black and white. It's not ideal but with the storm about sometimes you gotta make compromises. Here are a few examples.

I love the face she's making in that one! I don't know if brides like scrunched up faces or not on their wedding day but when you look this cute I can't help but use the photo.

Okay, well that was my first post for 2019. New years resolution complete. I will see you all next year!
